A Billion’s Worth
Not all filthy rich tycoons were born rich. Those included in the Billionaire’s List had their own share of difficulties in life too, like us, average mortals. Some went through the hardest times of their lives to be what they are now. Yes, most of them were nobodies before they finally became somebodies.
George Lindemann, one of Forbe’s richest man in U.S. ventured into a somewhat Buy and Sell/Build and Sell kind of field, before he earned his first Billion. He first designed a contact lens back in the 60’s, earned the market, then sold the business after 11 years. He sold his business to Cooper Labs for $60 million in 1971. He then acquired another business, a New Jersey cable licenses and then sold it $220 million in 1982. Built a cell phone business Metro Mobile and sold it to Bell Atlantic for $2.6 billion 1992.
And look where he is today?
His story is, without a doubt, a remarkable inspiration for billionaire-wannabes like me.
