Quest Personals - Reviewed by Cupid
I’d seen advertisements on TV for Quest Personals. They looked like your basic infomercial, so I really hadn’t put much stock in what they were selling. As time passed, curiosity got the better of me so here’s what I found inside the site…
QuestPersonals.com has a lot to offer those who appreciate a detailed profile. Besides the usual questions about age and race, they have a few additional sections that include information such as favorite books and movies. They go into your career and work goals, without getting too specific. There’s a section where you can leave a voice greeting and they can even promote in your local paper if you want. Some of the questions might not suit you, but having them there allows you the room to express yourself in as much or as little detail as you’d like. It also may give you better insight into Mister or Misses Right, if you stumble across their profile.
“. . . we suggest you proceed with caution.â€Â
You’ll be pleased to know that Quest Personals gives you a number of search options to help narrow your results. You can sort by some of the basics such as age, ethnicity and smoking habits. The site is missing some other essential search options, though, such as by height and body type. Search results can be ordered based on last log-in date but it doesn’t tell you when a person last logged on, making it impossible to tell how busy the site is. This is a huge drawback to QuestPersonals.com so we suggest you proceed with caution.
MetroDate - Reviewed by Cupid
Metrodate.com is a dating site with urban flair. When it comes to design, it’s maybe not the most edgy with its lavender and amber graphics, but it has some features that are cooler than its colours. You don’t necessarily have to be from a major metropolis, but when you fill out your profile they will ask you the name of the biggest burg nearby. It sort of has a comic strip, larger-than-life, pop art feel to its interface that makes me think that if Clark Kent was going to try to meet Lois Lane online, he might login to this site. But generally, even if you’re not a part-time superhero in tights, you should feel very much at home here.
Filling out my free profile wasn’t so arduous a task as it sometimes feels at other sites. There were four pages of questions, just enough required information to give someone else a general idea of who I am without my having to reveal deep, dark childhood secrets or other private details of my life. Besides a photo, I also had the option to add a video introduction or a voice recording to my description. What impressed me most was that I was required to provide a photo in order to use their chat feature. I like when a site forces it subscribers to add a picture since it definitely improves the overall quality of the profiles. I gave this site a 9/10. I should also point out that you can earn a free month of service by adding a video to your Metrodate ad.
Asia Friend Finder - Reviewed by Cupid
For broad-based Asian-specific dating, the Friend Finder network offers this site. Asia Friend Finder is a total-package site, but you have to hand over the money before you really get to see what it’s about. This can make anyone new to the online dating scene cringe, but Friend Finder has a track record of producing high-quality, member-driven sites and Asia Friend Finder is no exception. The profile quality at Asia Friend Finder is extremely high. There are more questions than you could ever need and opportunities to fill out profiles to a greater or lesser extent as you please. The one problem is that you can’t see what other members have written about themselves or what other pictures they’ve posted until you pay for a membership. However, if you would like to see some of what is available to you on the other side, you can always view your profile section and try filling out the questions.
Asia Friend Finder looks pretty solid from a visual perspective. There’s a lot going on at times as far as what’s on the screen, and the designers didn’t shy away from highlighting it all through color. The blend of choices doesn’t sit perfectly with my taste, but it’s a subjective area. No matter what your tastes are, however, you won’t find the presentation getting in the way of your search for love and romance.
